Premise: Peter hates his job, really hates his asshole boss, is clearly only going through the motions with his girlfriend and, to make matters worse, he attends a hypnotherapy session and the dude dies while our friend Peter is still in a trance. Except, since he never snapped his fingers to bring him back, Peter is now going to be extremely relaxed, confident and will no longer care about the office. Nothing can go wrong!

Under 90 minutes? Of course!
Do they say the title? Unfortunately no, they don’t.

First thing I thought of:

Okay, more: Yeah, decades later this movie still hits very hard. Of course some parts have aged a bit so-so (Jennifer Aniston’s character only real contributions to the movie are all the deliciously horrible scenes about “her flare”, but other than that eh, I do not really care much about that whole part of the plot), but the rest is hilarious. One of those fun little movies that are pretty cleverly written (basically like most of Mr Mike Judge’s output), with stuff that is bound to make you cringe audibly because you know someone who does exactly that thing or speaks like that or… There’s also something extremely charming about how clearly dated everything is, like, not just the big old computers with huge screens or how they are using diskettes all over the place, but there’s a scene where they need to learn about “money laundering” and they are using a dictionary. Like cavemen. Anyway, a very cozy rewatch, specially after being laid off recently-ish.

A simple way to improve it: I kinda wish the movie showed what happens to the asshole boss, but I’m fine with just letting that up to your imagination.

Trivia about the IMDb trivia:

In real life, TGI Fridays stopped requiring its waitstaff to wear “flair” because of this movie.

Well, see, films can sometimes really improve the world.
