Villains (2019)
Premise: The dumbest couple of criminals in the universe run out of gas after robbing a gas station (which kinda sets the tone for the movie), then proceed to try to rob this middle-of-nowhere-ish mansion thinking it is empty. Then the owners come back and boy would you believe it, they’re even weirder than our dynamic duo?
Under 90 minutes? Yup!
Do they say the title? Nope…
First thing I thought of:

Okay, more: This was… uneven, let’s say. It is a horror comedy and at times it is actually really funny, I have zero complaints about the four adults in the cast (it’s always a delight to see Kyra Sedgwick in anything), but it also felt like it didn’t know what to do with the premise, what to tell and specially how long was too long for each funny bit. Which is a shame because when it is funny, it’s very funny, but yeah. All in all, a land of contrasts.
A simple way to improve it: I know what I just said, but I think the couple of scenes with Ms Sedgwick and Bill Skarsgard would really really be funnier if they went on for longer and got more and more uncomfortable with each passing second.
Trivia about the IMDb trivia:
Bill Skarsgård and Maika Monroe are really good friends in real life.
Whoa, talk about the most boring possible trivia in the universe. I mean, who’s not friends with Maika Monroe, right?
