She Dies Tomorrow (2020)

Premise: For some reason Amy is convinced that she’ll die tomorrow. This is something she brings up in conversations and on top of being a bummer, it is kind of infectious because people start to feel the same dread she’s feeling. But anyway, Amy shows she’s not a loser and delivers on her promise. More or less.

Under 90 minutes? Yup!
Do they say the title? No, but uhm, it’s because Amy doesn’t speak about herself in the third person, she definitely says “I die tomorrow” and “I am dying tomorrow” and all that a million times.

First thing I thought of:

Okay, more: A few years back I was renting this flat that was actually a duplex. This sounds very impressive except it wasn’t, it was a tiny place with mold and the rain would leak and whatever. The important bit for this anecdote is that it had some stairs and they were some of the most unstable stairs in the universe, to the point where when I moved there I kept joking about how one day I would be trying to run downstairs to pee (the bathroom was downstairs, my bed upstairs), and haha wouldn’t that be a ridiculous death. Then, one morning, I was really hangover and kinda dragging myself downstairs, I tripped and for a few seconds I was, like, enjoying weightlessness, the sweet certainty of “i’m going to break my neck here or at least hurt my back super hard”. I thought about my dog briefly because she’s the most important thing in the universe and then when the realization that I was about to die hit, I remember distinctly thinking “well, that was disappointing.”
The plot twist is not that this blog is haunted (you see, I didn’t die) but I was thinking about that today. Did I like the movie? Well it sure was entertaining and it kept me guessing. Would I recommend it to anyone? Nope. I guess you had to be there.

Trivia about the IMDb trivia:

At the beginning of the film, Jane visits Amy at her house and offers her a glass of water with a few ice cubes. In the next scene the ice cubes have multiplied in the glass.
