VHS Viral (2014)

Premise: You know, the first two movies had a paper thin excuse for a “frame narrative”, this time we’re dropping that and just, like, having some random shorts and a longer one split in several of them. And, uh, the results will surprise you! Or maybe not!

Under 90 minutes? blissfully so

First thing I thought of: I’m really sorry, but thanks to THAT short, it’s obviously this:

Okay, more: uuuuuhhhhh yeah… this one is the worst of the bunch so far. Like, I only liked Nacho Vigalondo’s short and I think I only liked it because it had that charming, spanish awkwardness to some scenes, long shots of just people feeling uncomfortable and all that. The rest, really, what a waste. And specially what a waste of a bunch of skeletons, the funniest thing in the universe, damn.

A simple way to improve it: Maybe go back to the VHS gimmick, instead of just being “my 15 minutes short movie BOO”. I know my request is granted on the next one, but still.

The music used at the end of the movie is not opera, as it is described in the closed captions. It is Beethoven’s 9th Symphony 4th Movement in D Minor.
